Is ED in Younger Men Purely Psychological?

psychological causes of erectile dysfunction
Is ED in younger men purely psychological? If so, what can be done about it? If not, what are the other things that could cause it? ED is quite a hard thing to battle. Aside from the fact that it could be hard to acknowledge the fact that you need help in that department, it could also be embarrassing to go up to your doctor and speak about it. Erectile dysfunction is not something that is exclusive to an age range. Even before a boy becomes sexually active, he could experience erectile dysfunction. However, in a young man in the peak of his sexual activity, losing the ability to make it hard and keep it that way is more frustrating than anything else that he might ever experience in his young adult days.

What are the causes of ED? There are two types of erectile dysfunction: the partial and the complete. Partial ED is when a man starts to have an erection, keep it for some time, and lose it halfway through a sexual act. Complete ED is when a man couldn’t even start erecting at all. Complete ED is worse, but then partial ED could equally be annoying. They say that life begins at 40, but how can you begin if even before this age your member is starting to fail you?

While it isn’t true that all younger men who suffer from ED suffer from it because of psychological reasons, they are certainly a big factor. Being too anxious of your sexual performance is quite a reason, but it isn’t rare for many younger men, especially those who are in the peak of their sexual activities or are just starting to have one. If you are unsure of your sexual orientation, erection would be harder to achieve more and more each and every time, leading to erectile dysfunction. Stress is also a factor when it comes to arousal. See, erection is a collaboration of your feelings, some parts of your brain, circulation of your blood and many other processes inside your body. If your body is under stress or depression, your brain is not working as it ideally should and it would make it hard for you to achieve erection and keep it at that.

ED in younger men is one of the most popular reasons of younger men suffering from ED. There are many diseases also that could cause a man to lose partial or complete use of his penis and reproductive organs, and they are not limited to a certain age group. While most of these diseases could affect older men, younger men aren’t really safe from them.

Kidney failure, scleroderma, hemachromatosis and liver cirrhosis are just some of the most common physical causes of erectile dysfunction. These causes make it harder for men to achieve and sustain ED, and this is because all of them could cause damage to different body parts. Vascular diseases, nervous system diseases and hormonal imbalances could also cause younger men to have ED. Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Guillain-Barre, hyper and hypothyroidism and hypogonadism would also result to difficulties in achieving erections. However, physical causes aren’t the only reasons for ED. Smoking has also been related to erectile dysfunction.

Trauma and surgeries could also make you lose some or most erectile functions that you have. Injuries could cause ED in the form of scar tissues. If you ever had a scar, you’d probably noticed that the scar would have created a different type of skin from what you would normally have. A scar like this in a man’s penis is usually destructive, and would cause a penis to get bent, sometimes making erection painful. Biking is also a controversial cause of ED, though some newer bike models would make ED less possible by having softer and more comfortable seats.

So, is ED in younger men purely psychological? It has already been answered and the answer is no, it isn’t. You might have already known that older men would require longer and more intense stimulation for them to achieve erection and keep it so. Some people think that this is even normal when it isn’t. Now a younger man should be able to do just this in less time than an older man could. When a younger man has trouble getting his member stiff, they start to panic, make assumptions and jump directly into mistakes using pills and many other types of sexual enhancers. This is downright foolish, especially if you really don’t know the cause of your ED.
